What the Heck Does a Systems Engineer Actually Do? | Alan Vuong

We sit down with Alan Vuong, Senior Systems Engineer at REA Group, to explore what systems engineers actually do and how they help keep the technology behind the apps and services we use running smoothly. Alan takes us through his journey from managing physical servers in data centres to working with cloud infrastructure at REA, while breaking down what infrastructure actually means and demystifying “the cloud”. We also explore how systems engineers work with developers to deploy and test code, the skills and tools involved, and what makes systems engineering different from software development. So, what the Heck does a systems engineer actually do?
