Teresa Clarke, Board Chair of Friends of the Legal Resources Centre of South Africa and Chair and CEO of Africa.com, opens the 2026 Champions of Justice Gala with a welcome to guests and remarks on the impact of the Legal Resources Centre’s work. The evening brought together the Friends of the LRC Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and a community of supporters and partners from the legal, philanthropic, and diplomatic worlds to honor four champions of justice: Justice Albie Sachs, guest of honor, receiving the Lifetime Justice Award Former Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall, receiving the Lifetime Courage Award Jonathan Butler, receiving the Voice of Freedom Award Dechert LLP, receiving the Champions of Justice Award The gala took place on September 19, 2026, at the Harvard Club of New York City.
