Boing, boing! Every time you jump, you come back down. 🌍 But what if gravity switched off, for just one second? Don’t worry, it never can: this is a thinking game! Tutki the octopus imagines a glass of water, a ball thrown high, and the Moon. Shout your guess at every countdown, and stay for the fun facts! ▶ Try it yourself, free: https://nowiseewhy.com/gravity?from=y... An interactive 3D lesson for ages 5–11, with a Grown-ups level too. If gravity switched off for one second, a glass of water would just stay put: things that are sitting still stay still, unless something pushes or pulls them. A ball you’d just thrown up would keep going up at almost the same speed, because nothing would be pulling it back; then gravity comes back and brings it down, a little later than usual. And the Moon would carry on almost the same: for that second it would go in a straight line for about a kilometre, a tiny step on its long path, then gravity would keep bending its path again. Gravity never really switches off: it keeps our air around the Earth, the water in the seas and the Moon going round us. Try it with a grown-up: drop a ball and a toy car together and watch them land together, or throw a soft ball up outside and count.
