Mount of Transfiguration

🎵 Mount of Transfiguration - I was inspired to write this song by my reading the story of the transfiguration in Luke 9:28-36 and Matt 17:1-13 . Cinematic Americana Gospel song with acoustic instruments. 🎶 The song opens in verse 1 with Jesus taking three disciples (Peter, James, John) to climb the mountain to pray. But they grew sleepy while Jesus went to pray. But when he was praying, his face and clothes glowed white and Elijah and Moses appeared. This is echoed in the chorus. Verse 2 has the disciples awakening in a fright, ss Moses and Elijah departed from sight. Peter started babbling, filled with fear. In the bridge, a cloud came over them and also scared them. Then God said, “This is my beloved Son with whom I’m well pleased. Listen to Him.” The disciples fall down in fear but Jesus touched them: “Rise, have no fear.” The final chorus and outro concludes with them looking up and seeing Jesus alone. Then the song concludes with and addition from Matthew that has Jesus repeating the statement on the Son of Man but this time it meant Jesus, not John. They are told to keep silent until He is raised from the dead. Scriptural Anchors: Verse 1: (Lu 9:28-30, Matt 17:1-3), Chorus: (Luke 9:31, Matt 17:2), Verse 2: (Luke 9:32-33, Matt 17:4), Bridge: (Luke 9:34), Final Chorus/Outro: (Luke 9:34-36, Matt 17:9-13). 🙏 Have you ever wondered what this story meant? 👍 If this encourages you, like, comment, and subscribe – it helps others find it! ✝️ Follow @LenLaBarMusic for more like this. #christianmusic #luke9 #gospelmusic #americana #jesus #licensing Song written by: Leonard F.
