🎥 Vlog 3 — Exploring Reykjavík: Sun Voyager, FlyOver Iceland & Rainbow Street 🇮🇸 After last night’s incredible northern lights experience, we decided to slow things down and spend the day exploring Reykjavík city itself — its art, its colors, and its charm. The morning was calm, a little cloudy but not too cold — typical Icelandic weather. We grabbed some breakfast at a local café near The Swan House, then set off to explore on foot. Reykjavík is compact and walkable, which makes it perfect for a relaxed sightseeing day. 🌊 First Stop: The Sun Voyager (Sólfar) Our first destination was one of Reykjavík’s most famous landmarks — the Sun Voyager sculpture, or Sólfar. It sits right on the seafront with the mountains in the background, and it’s even more stunning in person than in pictures. The stainless-steel structure looks like a Viking ship, but it’s actually meant to represent a dreamboat — an ode to the sun and discovery. With the ocean breeze and the sound of waves, it felt peaceful yet powerful. We spent a while taking photos and just watching the light shift on the horizon. It’s one of those spots where Reykjavík’s minimalist beauty really shines — simple, but full of meaning. 🕹️ Next Stop: FlyOver Iceland From the harbor, we walked toward FlyOver Iceland, one of the coolest experiences in the city. You can check it out here: https://www.flyovericeland.com It’s basically a flight simulation ride that takes you “flying” across Iceland — waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers, black-sand beaches — all shown on a massive curved screen with motion seats, wind, and mist effects. It honestly felt like soaring through the island. Before the ride, there’s a short pre-show about Icelandic folklore that sets the tone — beautifully done and surprisingly emotional. The entire experience lasts around 30 minutes, and tickets cost around 4,990 ISK per adult (about €35). If you visit Reykjavík, FlyOver Iceland is a must-do — it’s immersive, fun, and gives you a breathtaking overview of the country even before you’ve left the city. 🌈 Final Stop: Rainbow Street (Skólavörðustígur) After the thrill of FlyOver Iceland, we wandered back toward the center to explore the famous Rainbow Street, officially called Skólavörðustígur. It’s one of Reykjavík’s most colorful streets, painted with a bright rainbow that leads straight up to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church. The whole area is lined with cafés, souvenir shops, and street art — super photogenic and full of life. We spent the afternoon walking, shopping for small Icelandic souvenirs, and just enjoying the vibe. The mix of locals and travelers, the smell of coffee in the air, and the bright rainbow under our feet made it the perfect ending to a cozy city day. 🌇 Wrapping Up Day 3 By evening, we headed back to The Swan House, grabbed some dinner, and reviewed our clips from the day.
