Special Reflection by Dr. W. J. Jeyaraj - 150th Anniversary - St. Cecilia’s Girls’ National School

This video features the special review delivered by Dr. W. J. Jeyaraj at the grand celebration of St. Cecilia’s Girls’ National School’s 150th Sesquicentennial Anniversary held on the 27th of June 2026. An old Cecilian himself, Dr. Jeyaraj was a student of the school before it became an all-girls’ institution. In his address, he shares how St. Cecilia’s continues to hold a special place in his heart and reflects on the cherished memories that came flooding back as he reviewed the commemorative anniversary souvenir. Dr. Jeyaraj also recalls his years of service as Secretary of the School Development Committee and the School Development Society during the tenures of Rev. Sr. Elizabeth A.C. and Rev. Sr. Arul Maria A.C. Together with the school leadership, he contributed to several initiatives that strengthened the school’s academic and community presence, including organizing the renowned Edubition (Educational Exhibition), which attracted visitors from across Batticaloa and beyond. In recognition of his longstanding dedication and valuable contributions to the school, Dr. Jeyaraj was invited as the Special Guest Reviewer of the 150th Anniversary Souvenir. During the celebration, he was also honoured by Rev. Sr. Nithanjali A.C. for his distinguished service to St. Cecilia’s. This speech is both a heartfelt tribute to the school’s remarkable 150-year journey and a reflection on the enduring legacy of the Cecilian spirit.
