My journey takes me through the Jebel Nafusa Mountains, where I visit the ancient Amazigh settlements of Qasr al-Haj and Nalut, before descending into the vast Sahara towards the legendary oasis city of Ghadames, the Pearl of the Desert. Along the way, I visit Al Aziziyah, the Libyan town once recorded as having the highest temperature ever measured on Earth, discover some of the cheapest petrol in the world, and travel through remote and isolated villages surrounded by endless desert. I also experience the incredible landscape, extreme heat and the unique way people have adapted to life in one of the harshest environments on the planet. This journey is not just about the Sahara.
