2Pac & Death Row LIVE in Ohio (1996 Eazy-E Tribute)

On January 4, 1996, history was made at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio—yet almost nobody talks about it today. Fresh out of prison and just weeks away from dropping All Eyez On Me, Tupac Shakur joined forces with Death Row Records, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, and DJ Quik for a rare, one-night-only Eazy-E Memorial Tribute Concert. Despite the intense rivalry between Dr. Dre and Eazy-E in earlier years, 2Pac maintained utmost respect for the N.W.A pioneer. This concert served as a powerful homage to Eazy-E’s legacy, featuring 2Pac performing iconic tracks like "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" and "California Love" live for the very first time. Why Was The Full Tour Canceled? What was supposed to be a massive nationwide Death Row tour quickly fell apart after the Ohio show. Escalating East Coast vs. West Coast tensions, severe gang-related security threats at venues, and venue owners refusing to insure Death Row events forced Suge Knight to shut the tour down. Tupac was immediately pulled back into the studio to focus on music videos and the release of All Eyez On Me. This rare archival footage captures one of the final, untamed live moments of 2Pac on stage before his tragic passing later that year.
