At 2 a.m., Mio delivers food on her scooter in Kyoto. An order comes from an empty house beyond Kiyotaki Tunnel — an old one-lane tunnel where cars take turns at a traffic light. The note says: "Even if the light turns green right away, don't go." Then the lights inside the tunnel stop adding up, and her delivery app starts calling her by name.
Kiyotaki Tunnel is a real place in Kyoto (photo: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi.... This story is fiction — the characters and events are invented, and the tunnel's ghost stories are local rumors. Please follow the traffic signals if you visit.
✨ What you'll practice: N5-N4 grammar in natural conversation, numbers and counting, traffic and delivery vocabulary, and listening comprehension at a comfortable pace.
💡 Tip: pause after a line and try shadowing it out loud. Short, natural sentences are the easiest to repeat and remember, and great for building N5-N4 speaking rhythm.
