Entry XIII: Echoes of the Five Companions Location: The Harborage / Morrowind Date: 2E 582 Leaving the ashes of Bal Foyen behind, a spectral summons drew me through the coastal cliffs west of Davon's Watch to a hidden, subterranean cavern known simply as the Harborage. There awaited the Prophet, the blind old man I had helped free from Coldharbour's agonizing grip. To understand the true weight of the calamity we face, the Prophet drew my mind into a profound vision of the past, revealing the tragic hubris of the Five Companions. I witnessed Emperor Varen Aquilarius, manipulated by the treacherous necromancer Mannimarco, attempt a ritual with the Amulet of Kings to crown himself Dragonborn. Instead of divine legitimacy, the ritual triggered the catastrophic Soul Burst, tearing the veil between Mundus and Oblivion and unleashing Molag Bal's Plane Meld upon Tamriel. Standing in the damp gloom of the Harborage, surrounded only by the quiet hum of my own thoughts and the mechanical clicking of Sprocket—the miniature Dwemer spider my parents built for me in the lonely isolation of our Vvardenfell tower—the reality of my existence set in. I am a soulless pawn caught in a cosmic war, burdened by a lineage I never asked for and an academic distaste for the crude, systemic cruelties of my homeland. Yet, the path forward is singular. The Prophet intends to assemble a new band of companions, starting with rescuing Lyris Titanborn from Coldharbour. If I am to reclaim my destiny, I must master the arcane arts once more and tear down the Worm Cult root and branch.
