I saw different parts of our world, met inspiring individuals and learned a language - none of that would have been possible if I had decided to go straight to uni after school. Being granted a Huayu Enrichment scholarship was one of my most grateful moments ever. You'll never 'waste' your time by going on adventures with yourself.
