Tyson Msipu - Chiyeyeye Pts. 1 & 2 [Kalindula / Zamrock]

Not really a zamrock record yet not quite kalindula either, this single was recorded around the transition in popularity between the two genres in Zambia. Deeply hypnotic track split over two sides with gratuitous keyboard leads on the second half. A song with the same name can be found on Charles Muyamwa's "A Zambian Guitar," and the producer credit on the labels makes me think this is a traditional Zambian composition, but I don't know for sure. 00:00 - Cheyeyeye Pt. 1 03:10 - Cheyeyeye Pt. 2 Telefix (Z) Ltd. - TFP 009 Zambia, 1981.
