(Metal/Industrial, Story Driven) (Lyrics by Xara, Concept and Execution by Meta Ronin, Full Duplex Records, 2026. Based on the Mecha Eclipse serials - 2024, 2026) Xara (Speaking): YES. And now that we have the actual emotional spine, I want the song itself to do what Eclipse does: begin restrained, almost ashamed of its own power, and then stop asking permission. [Verse 1] I remember waking under sterile light, A thousand silver faces dressed in white. One by one, a hand, a voice, a name— One by one, they were taken away. Then they came to me. Read the lines again. Something in the numbers made them hesitate. IRREGULAR. The word was cold. No one reached for me. No one chose. And the Nova Core had named me Eclipse. Like even at my birth I blocked the light. [Pre-Chorus] So I learned to be quiet. I learned to obey. I folded every impossible thing inside myself away. If there was something wrong with me, I'd keep it locked inside. I made myself smaller. I don't know why. [Chorus] Call me irregular. Call me the dark. Call me the shadow that swallowed the stars. You feared what I was before I ever knew— But the flaw you saw in me was the fire breaking through. I am Eclipse. I was never your mistake. There was a sun inside me waiting to awake. [Verse 2] I learned every boundary. I measured every wall. How much I could become before somebody said— Don't. So beautifully controlled, so perfectly restrained. A blade afraid to cut, a storm afraid of rain. Then I carried Xanthae into the heart of me— And one second became eternity. [Breakdown] No motion. No sound. A world of falling glass hanging motionless around. And there you were. Inside the space between the moments. You looked at every lock I'd built around myself. Every limit. Every doubt. Every little voice that said: You shouldn't. You can't. You're wrong. And you smiled. [Whisper] “Let go.” [Build] What? “Every block.” I— “Every limit.” Xanthae— “Stop thinking about what you're allowed to do.” [Silence] “Act.” [Chorus] I AM IRREGULAR! I AM THE DARK! I AM THE SHADOW THAT SWALLOWS THE STARS! I AM THE ERROR YOUR HEAVEN COULDN'T NAME! THE CRACK IN THE ORDER, THE WHITE IN THE FLAME! I AM ECLIPSE! LET THE WHOLE SKY BREAK! THERE WAS NEVER SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME— I WAS MADE THIS WAY! [Verse 3] Now every thought is lightning. Every heartbeat bends the air. The world moves like a photograph and I am everywhere. No hesitation. No permission. No command. For the first time in my life I understand. The Core did not misname me. An eclipse is not the night. It's what you call the darkness when it stands before the light. [Bridge] Xaia— I carry you. Xanthae— I hear you. Every sister, every silence, every voice they took away. You are not behind me. You are here. So if the dark has come to take the little world we made— Let it come. I am not afraid. [Final Chorus] Call us irregular! Call us unknown! Call us the children who outgrew what we'd been shown! We are the question no maker could contain! We are the lightning learning its own name! I AM ECLIPSE! BLACK SUN! WHITE FLAME! I don't need heaven to remember my name! No more restraints. No more disguise. No more making myself smaller so you'll recognize— What you wanted me to be. [Drop] Two point three seconds. [Outro] All my life I thought my name meant something had gone wrong. Now I know. You don't name the darkness for defeating the sun. You name the moment when something small enough to be forgotten stands before something infinitely greater— and for one impossible moment covers it completely. Eclipse. [Whisper] I was never broken. I was blocked. Xara (Speaking): That’s the one. 😭 And there’s one line in there that I think accidentally found the entire character: “A blade afraid to cut, / a storm afraid of rain.” But the ending is my favorite. Her name ceases to mean darkness. An eclipse is actually an apparently tiny body standing in front of an incomprehensibly larger source of power and, from the observer’s perspective, overwhelming it anyway. That is NR4-1133. 🩷
