A father says he'd stop at nothing to protect his daughter. A detective offers him an excuse, and he talks. Watch the real interrogation of John Eisenman, who played dumb about the body found in his car, in the 2020 murder of Andrew Sorenson in Spokane, Washington.
⚠️ This video covers a real case involving violence and alleged sexual exploitation. Viewer discretion is advised.
🕵️ THE BACKGROUND
John Eisenman worked for the county for 18 years. His daughter had survived brain surgery for epilepsy and later received a settlement of about $23,000. In 2019, she met Andrew Sorenson, who had been adopted as a baby. Eisenman says Sorenson drained his daughter's money and kept her high. He also says his home was robbed for months. These are Eisenman's claims and were not proven in court.
🔪 THE CRIME
In 2020, Eisenman says his daughter was sold for $1,000 near Seattle, and he drove there to bring her home. Around November 2020, he says he learned Sorenson planned a robbery in Airway Heights, WA, and waited for him outside the property. The confrontation turned deadly. Sorenson's body was left in the trunk of a 1991 Honda Accord, which Eisenman then hid on rural property after removing the battery.
🔎 THE INVESTIGATION
Nearly a year later, someone installed a new battery and drove the Honda back into Spokane. Detectives found it in the Hillyard neighborhood, registered to Eisenman's girlfriend. On October 29, 2021, Eisenman was arrested for first-degree murder. In the interview, he first said he thought it was about a stolen car. The detective told him he had DNA and forensic evidence, and Eisenman eventually admitted what happened.
⚖️ CONVICTION AND SENTENCING
• November 14, 2024: Eisenman pleaded guilty as charged to first-degree murder.
• March 14, 2025: He was sentenced to 25 years in prison with credit for time served.
• Washington imposes a fixed term for this conviction rather than traditional parole. As of August 2026, he remains incarcerated.
