Located in the southwestern part of Torremolinos, La Carihuela is a charming former fishing district known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful seafront and authentic Andalusian character. Its wide promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll, stretching towards El Bajondillo and Los Álamos in one direction and Puerto Marina in Benalmádena in the other. Once a traditional fishing village, La Carihuela has long been famous for the fresh fish and seafood of Málaga Bay. As tourism flourished from the 1950s onwards, the neighbourhood became home to numerous restaurants and chiringuitos, where visitors can enjoy freshly caught seafood right by the Mediterranean. Despite its modern development, La Carihuela has retained much of its original charm, with traditional shops, narrow Andalusian streets and a laid-back coastal atmosphere.
