One queen. One new colony. And now, our first proper look inside. In Episode 2 of **The Obsidian Queen Diaries**, we return to our newly created nuc to see how the colony is progressing after introducing our mated Obsidian Queen. This inspection gives us our first opportunity to assess how the bees are settling into their new home, check on the queen and see how the colony is developing. While we're in the hive, we also clip the Obsidian Queen, provide the colony with sugar syrup to support their continued growth, and add an Apivar strip as part of our Varroa management.
