This story was written in 1830. Pushkin's story emphasizes the timeless truth that wealth and business should not be the ultimate goals of life. Death brings everyone to the same place, where all human beings are equal. We should always remember that life is not everlasting. It is wiser to treat everyone with kindness, compassion, and humility. Ultimately, the true purpose of human life is to learn to value and nurture our relationships with others. Alexander Pushkin (6 June 1799 – 10 February 1837) was a renowned Russian poet, playwright, and novelist.
