KEYNOTE-C93: Pembro in dMMR endometrial cancer - Meet the expert | Brian Slomovitz | ESMO 2026

At ESMO 2026, Brian Slomovitz (Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach) presents KEYNOTE-C93, the phase 3 trial comparing first-line pembrolizumab monotherapy with carboplatin-paclitaxel in mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. Around 30% of endometrial cancers are dMMR, and these tumours are among the most immunogenic we treat. The question was whether immunotherapy alone could replace chemotherapy in first line. Pembrolizumab more than quadrupled median progression-free survival (38 vs 8 months, HR 0.57). The overall survival difference was not statistically significant, likely diluted by a high crossover rate. Patients on pembrolizumab also had far fewer severe side effects and better quality of life.
