Marlins Fail to Sweep Royals & Lose Must-Win Game 3, 7-3

In another must-sweep series, the Marlins fail to get the job done. On Thursday night, Miami dropped Game 3 to the AL Central worst Kansas City Royals, 7-3. The Fish have fallen back to 3 games in the NL Wild Card race. Kansas City's Jac Caglione (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R) and Carter Jensen (3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2B) led the Royals' offense. Despite throwing 98 pitches, Sandy Alcantara wasn't on his A-game tonight, though it didn't help that Kauffman Field was steaming today. Hot weather usually results in balls that sail more, and that's exactly what happened. In the 8th inning, Tyler Zuber & Dax Fulton combined poor efforts to log another bullpen collapse. Miami only recorded 6 hits as well and couldn't hit off of one of the worst bullpens in baseball. Tomorrow, the Marlins go back home to face the Chicago Cubs. Good luck.
