Indigo Dyed Leather We saw our neighbor Milissa had got in some little natural indigo kits so we decided to dye up some leather. Dying leather with natural indigo is a bit different than using synthetic indigo found in many craft store kits - the natural indigo takes a bit more careful preparation, and the color is not as bright and electric blue when dying leather with natural indigo. I personally love it that way - I love the deep dirty navy the leather turns, brought on by the natural indigo. One or two more prolonged indigo dips turns your leather almost black, with a glimmer of blue coming out when held at the right angles. When your dying leather with indigo, make sure to use a good quality natural vegetable tanned leather. We use Hermann Oak veg tan, and you can get it at our sponsor Weaver Leather at the link above!
