I Played The Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG and Here's What Happened

Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG review and first impressions! I played the new Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG and discovered an incredibly open-ended RPG with unique combat, character creation, and GM mechanics. I recently played Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG for the first time, and I think I may have found the most open-ended TTRPG I’ve ever played. The freedom is one of the things I love most about the game… but it might also be one of its biggest challenges. In this video, I talk about my first experience playing Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG, including: • The unique health box system • Player-facing combat and evasion • Why evading an attack costs an action • The game’s two-action economy • Roleplaying opportunities in a combat-heavy RPG • Playing Princess Donut • Character creation and the ability to create your own races and classes • Whether DCC RPG suffers from paralysis of choice • How much freedom the game gives players • The amount of improvisation Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG asks of the GM • How much knowing the Dungeon Crawler Carl books adds to the experience • Whether I think the game is worth playing after my first session This isn’t a complete Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG rules guide. I’ll be making more videos about the system as I learn it and eventually start running my own DCC RPG games. I also recently hosted a live discussion with two other GMs about Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG, our first session, the rules, combat, character creation, and what we’re learning as we prepare to run our own games. 👉 WATCH THE LIVE DISCUSSION: https://youtube.com/live/BOi5ZGSFl1Q?... 🐧 My startplaying.games profile: https://startplaying.games/gm/evilpen... 🎲 Get $10 off your first game at startplaying: https://startplaying.games/referral/c... If you’ve played Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG, tell me in the comments: What’s the one mechanic you think I need to understand better before I run the game myself? I’m absolutely here for it. #DungeonCrawlerCarl #DCCRPG #DungeonCrawlerCarlRPG #TTRPG #RPG ❤️ Follow me on socials ✅ TikTok -   / evilpenguingaming   ✅ Instagram -   / evilpenguingaming   ✅ Facebook -   / evilpenguinrpg
