10 x Ferrari 499P Modificata at Monza Circuit: 870HP Unrestricted Le Mans Hypercar in action!

A couple of days ago I finally managed to see and record a nice bunch of Ferrari 499P Modificata, a track-day version of the 499P that triumphed at the 24 Hours Le Mans, designed for non-competitive use and produced for a few lucky customers. The idea behind the 499P Modificata, which in Italian means 'Modified', is the same as the 488 GT Modificata: a car that doesn't have to comply with any technical regulation or BoP limitation for which it was built. What does this mean for a car that was built for the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship? First of all, total freedom in delivering the power of the hybrid engine from any speed. The 499 LMH has semi-permanent all-wheel drive: in fact it's powered by a 2,992 cc, twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing around 670 hp on the rear wheels plus a bespoke, high performance 200kW (270 hp) electric motor on the fronts. As required by the regulation (but adjusted from race to race by the Balance of Performance), the maximum power is set to approx 680 hp/500 kW in total, so the on-board electronics manage the power level in all circumstances, using the hybrid "boost" starting from a regulated speed (which is set at 190 km/h). Instead the Modificata should feature all-wheel drive at any speed, with a thermal + hybrid system which stands at approximately 707 hp/520kw, but with an optional 'push-to-pass' function the driver can deliver the full power of the electric motor for a few seconds, which allows the car to have 870 hp. From an aesthetic point of view the 499P Modificata remains almost similar to the LMH. The main differences between the two versions, now much more notable after the introduction of an 'Evo' joker on the WEC 499P at the end of 2024, lie in the absence of the lateral cooling intakes on the Modificata as well as the front 'flicks' under its front headlamps. The 499P Modificata uses Pirelli tyres, with a different dimensions at the front (310/71 versus 340/71) compared to the Michelin racing tyres of the LMH, in both cases installed on 18” rims. The car inaugurates the Sport Prototipi Clienti programme, which runs alongside the XX and F1 Clienti programmes. In this video you can watch ten of them in action at Monza Circuit during the second track day of the 2025 season. On Tuesday they revealed and delivered 4 of them to their owners (numbers 33, 55, 56 and 59) who were given the opportunity to shakedown their cars before the actual two days of track day (no. 59 wasn't used). On Wednesday and Thursday, a total of 10 different 499P' took to the track (no. 1, 4, 19, 26, 33, 42, 44, 55, 56 and 98).
