Surprisingly, I am getting better at asking pp to help me take pictures.
I am learning to travel alone but have fun by interacting with people around, asking for direction, asking for the name of the attraction, asking them to take pictures for me, asking if they want me to help them take pictures, asking for help how to buy a transport ticket, for help with my ticket's problem, ... and another thousand "why and how" questions. Some sweet moments that the woman ran after me to just tell and show me the view from the arch that I definitely shouldn't miss. Or the old man went at length to ask others abt the name's of the building for me. And it turned out so simple, Belem Tower. He said he liked that I journaled and I like it too =))
I tried to take my time, enjoy the moment, fully live in it first before taking out my phone for pictures and videos
The moments of "wao" and "oh" came more often during the trip when feel like the nature truly amazed me. Giggled at my own thought that I'm broke but I got to see these magnificent natural wonders in my 30s, not saving money and going when I were 70s.
Grateful that I am where I wanted to be, not too young but free, I can walk long distance, hike uphill
When some things don't go according to plan, I learnt to calm myself down, find solution, or accept and find a good thing about it. I bought the wrong ticket, but the bus driver let me stay. I thanked him with one mandarin. I reached out to one girl and she shared with my so many good tips, which helped me changed my plan to get off at Estoril first and walk to Cascais instead of just checking only Cascais like other tourists.
I told myself that I want to escape from my routines so I traveled and I should welcome new things, and sometimes unexpected problems. I learn the most and broaden my horizon when I get out of my comfort zone. And I am a brave girl S2
