Khawae Mina: Tsepon W. D. Shakabpa, Historian and Finance Minister of Tibet

Shakabpa, Historian and Finance Minister of Tibet ཐེངས་འདིའི་ཁ་བའི་མི་སྣའི་ལེ་ཚན་གྱི་ནང་དུ་རྩིས་དཔོན་ཞྭ་སྒབ་པ་དབང་ཕྱུག་བདེ་ལྡན་ལགས་ངོ་སྤྲོད་བྱས་ཡོད་ཅིང་། ཁོང་གི་སྐུ་ཚེའི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ཀྱི་སྐོར་ལ། ཨ་རིའི་རླུང་འཕྲིན་ཁང་གི་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ལགས་དང་ལྷན་དུ་བགྲོ་གླེང་བྱས་ཡོད། Tsepon W. D. Shakabpa, born on January 11, 1907, in Lhasa, Tibet, was a prominent Tibetan nobleman, scholar, statesman, and the Finance Minister of Tibet from 1939 to 1950. Shakabpa began his career in the government at the age of 23 in 1930, serving in the Treasury before being appointed as the Minister of Finance in 1939. During his tenure, he played a key role in Tibet's international affairs, leading a trade mission to various countries, including India, China, the USA, England, France, Switzerland, and Italy, to explore commercial treaties and assert Tibet's independence. His contributions also extended to preserving Tibetan history, countering Chinese narratives, and engaging in diplomatic efforts. Tsepon W. D.
