OutRun Through the Years: 14 Versions Compared (Masterpieces & Disasters)

For me, OutRun is a complete journey through the history of one of the most iconic racing games of all time! That’s why I decided to create this video, where I compare 12 different conversions of OutRun, starting from the unforgettable 1986 arcade original. I tried to gather and compare every home port released up to the year 2000 that I could get my hands on, with two well-deserved exceptions: the fantastic 2001 Sega Dreamcast version and the impressive 2025 Game Boy Color homebrew masterpiece. Join me as we explore how different consoles and home computers of the era tackled the challenge of bringing home the magic, speed, and music of the arcade original.
