Jian Zhi Wei Jun | Original Xianxia Song

I Cut You From Paper Every Winter — 《剪紙為君》 (Jian Zhi Wei Jun), an original Chinese fantasy duet. Would you trade yourself to bring someone back? 📜 THE STORY A tiny mountain hut, one lamp no bigger than a bean. Every winter solstice she cuts a little figure from red paper — brows a bit shorter, lips curved up — and there he is, smiling. A hundred winters, a hundred of him. Not one would speak. She thought she was waiting for someone to come back. Then the scissors slipped and cut her fingertip. Only paper dust fell. Not a drop of red. The little girl he once cut from paper and woke with a drop of his blood… was her. Sung in Chinese (Mandarin). The on-screen lyrics are in Chinese characters; the story above tells you what happens.
