500 Million Years of Forgotten Monsters Before the First Dinosaur

#prehistoric #dinosaurs #paleontology #deeptime #extinction #naturalhistory #viral #fyp #science #facts Dinosaurs get all the credit, but they weren't Earth's first monsters. Hundreds of millions of years before the first dinosaur appeared, a series of strange apex predators ruled the planet, and every one of them was wiped out. In this video, we travel backward through deep time to meet Anomalocaris, the Cambrian giant with sixteen-thousand-lens eyes. Dunkleosteus, the armored fish with a bite on par with an alligator. Meganeura and Arthropleura, the giant insects and millipedes of a world. Jaekelopterus, the eight-foot sea scorpion. And the gorgonopsians, the first saber-toothed predators in Earth's history.
