In Full Color

This song was written for my youngest son. He spent his whole life being told he was weird, wrong, and doing everything backwards. I spent years talking to doctors who would say he was "severely ADHD", but neither he nor I wanted him on medication. It took years, from early childhood on, to teach him to self-regulate. He was heavily involved in music, ROTC and art. At age 25, after years of being misunderstood, he was tested for, and diagnosed with, AuDHD. Despite all his obstacles, he is a brilliant, talented artist, living on his own and loving life. He has always been cheerful, optimistic and funny as hell. I am beyond proud of him. Our hope is that this song reaches other people going through the same things: misunderstood, wrong, backwards... None of that matters, but YOU do. People don't have to understand you, as long as you understand yourself. Find your story, and let everyone hear you tell it.
