Crashing Through Danger (1936) Director: Sam Newfield Writers: Norman Houston Stars: Ray Walker, Sally Blane, Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams Genre: Action, Drama, Romance Country: United States Language: English Also Known As: Crashin' Thru Danger Release Date: April 17, 1936 (London) Filming Location: Los Angeles, California, USA Synopsis: Three electric-company linemen--Torchy, Slim and Eddie--are constantly reprimanded by their supervisor, "Pop" Foster, for their behavior, which is a bit too "happy-go-lucky" for Pop's tastes. On the day that Pop gets his 25-year service pin and is to retire, the crew is called out on an emergency repair call. When Pop goes down into a manhole to see what the problem is, Torchy's negligence causes an explosion, and Pop is killed. The three decide to take care of Pop's pretty young daughter, Ann, by having her move into their house and be their housekeeper. It's not long, however, before each of them begins to fall for Ann, and Ann has the same feelings for one of them. Complications ensue. Reviews: Made in 1938, the following year's Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, and The Women didn't exactly have a tough act to follow. The directing is bad, the acting is bad, the story could fit on a gum wrapper, but other than that, it kept my attention. It fits together reliably, fairly forumulaic. Sally Paine is pleasant enough but not a terrific actress. I did enjoy seeing how they did line work back then. They seem to have done some research about that. The men wore long leather coats, for instance. It's pretty funny in the climax when Sally Paine takes it upon herself to rescue the men who are fighting blackouts in a tropical storm in Los Angeles. She dons a slicker and is seen trotting down the street against a blue screen. It's really bad. A bit later she is driving the bucket truck through the storm. Keep in mind she isn't the fierce leader who points out the stupidity of all men like women are portrayed today. She's just the pretty boss's daughter. written by "JetJagMan" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Crashing Through Danger United States Crashin' Thru Danger(alternative spelling) United States Crashing Through Danger United States Hell Breaks Loose(original script title) ···················································································· ✘ Website: https://www.artflix.info FOLLOW US! ✘ Twitter -   / artflixtv   SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership: https://bit.ly/33nGlVm MORE MOVIES! ► Film Noir: https://bit.ly/3yP7UR2 ► Classic Movies: https://bit.ly/2VhJRN2 ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2AsmqTR #classicmovies #filmnoir #colorizedmovies ···················································································· COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed.
