Where does the fruit in Cambodia’s countryside markets come from? On this trip to Phnom Kulen, we visit small family farms growing pomelo, passion fruit, and bananas — and we tasted fruit straight from the farms.
Around Anlong Thum and Klah Khmum on Kulen Mountain, we meet local Cambodian farmers and discover some of the places supplying nearby markets. The farmers tell us they don’t use chemical fertilizer on these fruits, sharing their own account of how they grow them.
The trip also takes us to a family-managed campsite, where we stay overnight. Along the way, we encounter a mother dog nursing her four puppies—one of the small moments that made this visit memorable.
