This is the first episode of the 44th series of Top Gear, introducing Jason Barlow - from Channel 4's Driven - and Top Gear researcher Adrian Simpson as the new faces on the programme. Programme code: NBHM183D In this programme, Jason takes a look at the Audi A2 and what's happening in motoring news, Vicki Butler-Henderson enjoys the fresh air in Ferrari's new spider variant of the 360 and goes combine harvester racing, Tiff Needell sees if BMW's diesel 3-Series holds up against its petrol brother, and Adrian gives the Top Gear Verdict on the Seat Alhambra TDi. Driven would premiere its fourth series about 2-ish weeks earlier, though their "new face" was the BTCC champion Jason Plato, who carried the show with Penny Mallory and Mike Brewer to spectacular effect.
