The historic Whitney was built for lumber baron David Whitney. It's a 22,000 square foot monolith built in the Romanesque revival style. Completed in 1894 by architect Gordon W. Lloyd.
It houses 52 rooms, 10 bathrooms, 20 fireplaces and 218 windows. Exterior construction includes rose pink South Dakota granite with a fish scale roof.
It includes Detroits first residential elevator and extensive Tiffany stained glass windows. Check it!
