This involves the withdrawal of route D7. Routes 135, 277, D6 and Superloop SL4 would also change. Route D7 Route D7 currently runs between Mile End and All Saints via Canary Wharf and Island Gardens. The route serves many areas in the Isle of Dogs and Docklands, in east London. The D7 would be entirely replaced by changes to routes 277 and D6. The D7 serves Mile End, Westferry, Canary Wharf, Island Gardens, Cubitt Town and Poplar, All Saints. Buses run daily, every 10 to 12 minutes from 04:35 until 01:40. Route 277 Route 277 runs between Dalston Junction and Crossharbour Asda. This route would be changed to follow the current route of the 135. Buses will take a longer route before terminating at Crossharbour Asda. This will mean more areas in the Isle of Dogs are served by the 277. The 277 will serve areas that are currently served by the D7. Buses will now serve Westferry Road, Island Gardens, Manchester Road and Cubitt Town. Weekend early morning frequencies would also be increased to every 12 minutes. The 277's night service would also be rerouted via Island Gardens. Route D6 Route D6 runs between Cambridge Heath, Ash Grove and Crossharbour Asda. This route would be changed to serve more areas in the Isle of Dogs. Buses will follow the D7's current route. This includes Cubitt Town, Manchester Road, Island Gardens and Westferry Road. Buses will continue to terminate at Crossharbour Asda. The D6 will not serve Marsh Wall or Crossharbour Station. The route will continue to terminate at Cambridge Heath, Ash Grove and Crossharbour Asda. Frequencies will remain unchanged. Route 135 Route 135 runs between Old Street, Provost Street and Crossharbour Asda. The 135 would swap routeings with the 277. The 135 would take a more direct, shorter route to Crossharbour Asda. Buses will not serve Island Gardens or Cubitt Town. Passengers in these areas should use routes 277 or D7. The 135 will continue to terminate at Old Street and Crossharbour Asda. The route's frequency will remain unchanged. Superloop SL4 The SL4 runs between Canary Wharf and Grove Park, via the Silvertown Tunnel. This route would be changed to serve new roads around Wood Wharf. Buses will serve Preston’s Road and Charter Street. New bus stops are expected to be added along the new line of route. The SL4 will continue to serve Canary Wharf, Blackheath and Grove Park. The route's frequency will remain unchanged. Why Are Routes Changing? Less people are using buses in the Isle of Dogs compared to before the Covid pandemic. This decline in bus usage means that according to TfL, there are now more buses than necessary.
