Here we run through the leveling process for the Game Boy Characters. Before we start here is a preface. *MAX difficulty must be unlocked to optimize this strategy *DO NOT LEVEL UP NINA AS SHE WILL BE YOUR OPPONENT. SAVE HER FOR LAST *Focus on getting one character maxed out at Level 99 first *You get an experience bonus the higher your level is. The experience bonus multiplier increases by 0.5 every 20 levels maxing out at x3.5 experience at level 99. This experience bonus is only seen when you transfer the experience points gained on the N64 version back to the Gameboy Color Version as depicted in the video. In the GBC portion of the video Kate had a x1.0 multiplier for the 1325 experience I had stockpiled. Alex had 2542 experience stockpiled but he is level 99 netting him 8897 experience to be used by Harry. 00:00 Mario Tennis 64 Gaining Experience 03:08 Mario Tennis GBC Experience Gained and Leveling Characters Scenario 1: No Game Boy Characters are leveled First you will have to train at least on character in the Game Boy Color version of Mario Tennis. You can do the various trainings offered in the Training Court. Each level should go to power as you will need it to win exhibition matches in the Mario Tennis 64 version. Once you are about level 7-10 (depending on the character) transfer your character over via Transfer Pak. The higher your service stat is the better chance you can ace your opponent who will be one of the created characters transferred over from Mario Tennis GBC. DO NOT PUT ANY EXPERIENCE POINTS INTO ANY OTHER CHARACTERS AT THIS POINT. Play exhibition matches on the N64 version with the character you want to level on MAX difficulty on a strongest bounce court (DK Court or Bowser Court). Any ace, smash or return winner will net you experience points. Starting off you will not get very many aces but focus on getting smash and return winners. If you play a 1 Set 2 Game match and you get 4 Aces, 4 Smash Winners, and 4 Return winners it will net you 108 experience points. Again, do not expect to get this amount when first starting out. Scenario 2: At least one character is decently leveled or max level. When a character is decently level or max level with good stats this becomes very easy. You can easily run ten 1 Set 2 Game matches in 10-15 min. Repeat the same process as above but dump your points into the character you want to level, either the character you are playing with or the doubles partner. Once you get a least one of the partner characters to level 99 the experience gain from that character can be dumped into the partner. Huge credit to YouTube Channel "ibu" again. They have a video also explaining this process (linked below). However, I felt they did not highlight the fact that this is more of a struggle if no characters are leveled in the beginning.
