🙏 Jai Maa Durga | Jai Bajrangbali | Har Har Mahadev 🙏 In this Varanasi Vlog, we continue our journey through the spiritual and historical heart of Banaras – Kashi. 🌺 Our First Stop – Sumera Devi Temple, Ramnagar We began this part of our journey by visiting the historic Sumera Devi Temple, also known as Durga Mandir, located in Ramnagar, across the Ganga from Varanasi. According to the Kashi official website and other historical sources available online, the temple is believed to have been built around 1770 by Raja Balwant Singh, the Kashi Naresh, and completed by his son Raja Chet Singh. The temple is closely associated with the Kashi Naresh royal heritage and the history of Ramnagar. The temple is particularly fascinating for its extraordinary stone carvings and sculptures. As described by the Kashi heritage source, the walls are covered with detailed figures depicting Hindu deities, divine stories, animals, sages and symbolic representations of the universe. The temple is also associated in historical accounts with the period of Raja Chet Singh and Warren Hastings and the conflict between the Banaras ruler and the East India Company in the late 18th century. Different sources describe this history differently, so in this vlog we share it as part of the historical accounts associated with the temple. 🙏 After visiting Sumera Devi Temple, we continued our journey towards Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ji Temple. 🚩 Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ji Temple Our next destination was the famous Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ji Temple, one of the most revered temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman in Varanasi. Traditionally associated with Goswami Tulsidas Ji, Sankat Mochan holds a very special place in the spiritual life of Kashi.
