The Bug Club is extraordinarily excited to present ELO's 1983 album Secret Messages, restored to its originally-intended double album form and lovingly remastered by us with our utmost care. Such a restoration has been awaited for 37 years - not even the 2018 re-release of the album was truly accurate to ELO's original vision. With all interludes in their proper places, and all audio from the best-quality sources, we hope that you will enjoy participating in this journey as much as we enjoyed creating it. And as with every Bug Club upload, good things come to those who ask. Beatles Forever. The song has been an elusive part of ELO's unreleased back catalog for years, with interest only growing after the original 2001 leak of the song (which was audio of a boombox, recorded by a video camera in a bag). Another leak occurred in 2005, when a low-bitrate CDR copy was obtained from the collection of ELO engineer Bill Bottrell. No further source upgrades were provided until this year - a low-quality transfer of a CD backup of the 3-11-83 acetates. With the inconsistency of these sources, The Bug Club is thrilled to finally release a truly high-quality version of the most infamous ELO outtake. Originally intended as the seventh track on the double album, this was one of the eight scrapped tracks when CBS requested that the album be cut down to a single LP. While every other scrapped track from Secret Messages did escape on archival releases such as Afterglow, Jeff Lynne never allowed Beatles Forever to be released, citing it as being "fawning" and "sycophantic". The world was extremely close to an official release of Beatles Forever with the (highly flawed) 2018 re-issue of Secret Messages - it was even included on the final master, before being crudely cut out of it at the last minute. You can even hear the beginning of it at the tail end of No Way Out. We hope that the release of this song in such quality might finally spur Jeff Lynne to approve an official release of Beatles Forever, for everyone to enjoy in physical media and the convenience of streaming services. Until then, however, we hope you enjoy our restoration of this track. View our original liner notes: https://mega.nz/folder/XgElRaaJ#xzMzj...
