To Whom Will You Compare God?

Isaiah 40:25-31 2 Co 10:12 For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.... 17 But HE WHO BOASTS IS TO BOAST IN THE LORD. 18 For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends. I. Greatness of His Power A. Trust wrong things - idols 1. Money 2. Looks 3. Popularity 4. Romance 5. People 6. Government/Politics B. Ps 146:3 Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. C. People worry about politics - Iraq, Syria, N. Korea 1. Isa 40:18-23 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him? 19 As for the idol, a craftsman casts it, A goldsmith plates it with gold, And a silversmith fashions chains of silver. 20 He who is too impoverished for such an offering Selects a tree that does not rot; He seeks out for himself a skillful craftsman To prepare an idol that will not totter. 21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. 23 He it is who reduces rulers to nothing, Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. D. Mt 10:28 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. II. He Never Gets Tired A. Never wears out 1. Never needs rest or sleep B. Has limit on willingness to tolerate 1. Ge 6:3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, 2.
