Ho'oponopono Interview
Voices from Hawai‘i — Jean Nakasato
Episode 3|Memories or Divinity?
"Which side do you want to stand on? Memories or Divinity?"
On O‘ahu, Irene Taira sat down with Instructor Jean Nakasato.
Many of us carry a quiet sense that we will never be number one, or that we are somehow less because of where we were born or the language we speak. If we clean enough, will that feeling ever go away?
Jean on why we keep cleaning:
"Because if you don't, it's going to pile up, pile up, pile up, pile up and then you're going to sink."
The conversation then turns to a fear many parents know well: handing their own memories down to their children.
"That's like the best gift anybody can give their child, is you clean what you are emotionally feeling, to set them free."
Irene opens up about how hard it is to let her children be free, and about how wishing for someone's happiness can quietly turn into pain.
Jean closes with a message for everyone watching.
"And every single moment of our life tells a story."

— What is Ho'oponopono? —
Ho'oponopono is a problem-solving practice handed down in Hawaii.
What we experience now is a "memory" replaying inside us.
We clean that memory and release it to Divinity — this is the teaching of
SITH Ho'oponopono.
