As survivors we want the world to better understand all aspects of domestic abuse and the reality for children. 1 in 5 Children are subjected to domestic abuse in their lifetime yet it is too often minimised, diminished or missed.. Yet the impacts can last a lifetime! Children are finally recognised as victims in their own right due to the Domestic abuse Act 2021 in England and Wales . We have so much more we need to do in firstly recognising it as abuse, to remove the taboo and open the vital conversations.
