From Squamish to Hollywood | Ryan Cook – From Skater to the Screen

Episode One of Big Things from a Small Town – A Squamish Story starts with someone I’ve known since we were kids — Ryan Cook. Growing up in Squamish, Ryan was one of those guys we genuinely thought was going to become a professional skateboarder. He was sponsored while still in high school and had serious talent on a board. But his story took another direction. Ryan went from skating the streets of Squamish to appearing in television and movies including 90210, 2012, 2 Dudes and a Dream, See You on the Other Side and Saw Dogs. He even landed one of the craziest commercial shoots I’ve heard of — jumping Harley-Davidson motorcycles on a skateboard with rockets attached to it. For a town of roughly 14,000 people around the year 2000, Squamish has produced an incredible number of people who have gone on to do some pretty amazing things. Ryan’s story is just the beginning.
