Alpine Cattle Drives Through Appenzell 2023 | Öberefahre with Cows and Goats Through the Village

🎞️ On this Saturday, several Öberefahre (traditional alpine descents) passed through the village of Appenzell, Switzerland. Cows and goats made their way down the Hauptgasse, passing by the beautiful historic buildings and local shops of Appenzell. As tradition dictates, the herds are led on foot from the summer alp back to their home farms. The animals are accompanied by Sennen (herdsmen), young helpers, and finally the farmer at the end of the procession.
