The bushwalk around Burleigh Headland within Burleigh Head National Park connecting the calm, turquoise waters of Tallebudgera Creek to Burleigh Beach is one of the Gold Coast's most iconic coastal trails. The walk blends coastal rainforest, dramatic six-sided basalt rock formations, and panoramic views across the Pacific Ocean. The best way to experience the headland is by linking the two main tracks into a full circuit starting from Tallebudgera Creek: ​Tucked away on the southern bend of the headland, Echo Beach provides a secluded sandy spot with still water framed by overhanging rainforest canopy. ​Skirting the ocean edge around the base of the headland, this flat path passes through pandanus groves and beneath towering columns of ancient basalt rock formed millions of years ago by volcanic activity. ​Located at the highest point along the Rainforest Track, the Tumgun lookout offers views stretching south across Tallebudgera Creek, Palm Beach, and Snapper Rocks. ​The elevated inner trail climbs through brush box trees, native hibiscus, and littoral rainforest.
