SEIGE OF MARUIPOL - 1 (Zeus POV)

SITUATION 1.1. Background The Russian Armed Forces have successfully encircled the strategic port city of Mariupol. Elements of the Ukrainian garrison have been cut off from resupply and reinforcement. For the past 72 hours, the city has been under heavy bombardment. Due to a sudden, drastic change in weather (heavy fog and freezing rain), Russian High Command has ordered a temporary halt to all major offensive operations. Enemy forces are consolidating their positions, digging in, and waiting for conditions to improve. This lull in fighting provides a narrow window of opportunity. 1.2.
