He served as NBC News’ bureau chief in Pakistan and Afghanistan and later as Digital Editor at Nikkei Asia. His work has appeared on CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, and many other global outlets. He also helped launch two of Pakistan’s biggest news channels, Geo News and Dawn News. Over the years, he has interviewed virtually every Pakistani prime minister, president, and army chief since the early 2000s — and embedded with more than 120 frontline units of Pakistani, Afghan, NATO, and ISAF forces.
