IS THE CHURCH FAILING US?: Descipleship. Purpose. Truth

In this episode of On That Note, we're having an honest conversation about the church, its purpose, and the experiences that have shaped the way people see it. The church is meant to be a place of fellowship, spiritual growth, love, accountability and transformation. But what happens when the very place people turn to for healing becomes a source of pain? We unpack the reality of church hurt, the imperfections of the people within the church, and the difference between God's purpose for the church and the way that purpose is sometimes represented by those who lead and attend it. We also ask some important questions: Have we misunderstood what the church is supposed to be? How do we navigate disappointment within the body of Christ? And when people are hurt by the church, how do we distinguish between their experience with people and their relationship with God? This isn't about pretending the church gets everything right, nor is it about dismissing the good that the church has done and continues to do. It's about making room for honest conversations, challenging our perspectives, and examining what the church is truly called to be. Because difficult conversations don't have to come from a place of division.
