The last time I came to Owensboro, y’all let me know in the comments that I had apparently left a LOT on the table. Between YouTube and TikTok, you gave me homework. So I went back. 😂 This time I started with a familiar face at TB’s Flea — the Rock & Roll Spooky Shop where creepy clowns, strange vintage finds, rubber chickens and wonderfully weird things are just part of the experience. Then I followed one of YOUR recommendations to Gifted Thrift, where I met Angel and learned about My Sister’s Keeper — a women’s mission helping women and mothers rebuild their lives. I walked in expecting a thrift store. I walked out thinking about dignity, community, second chances and what can happen when people decide to take care of each other. And because apparently that still wasn’t enough for one day, I finished things off at The Enchanted Exchange — crystals, carnivorous plants, handmade treasures, familiar faces, a little mystery and a whole lot of magic. Somewhere between all the weird treasures, conversations, hugs and unexpected familiar faces, Owensboro did something I wasn’t expecting. It started feeling a little like home. So this one is for the people who told me I needed to come back.
