Gameplay focuses on precise flying, with players managing momentum, gravity, missiles, shields, and fuel while blasting through walls and activating switches to open new routes. Progress demands accurate positioning and timing, as falling debris, tight corridors, and hostile fire punish even minor mistakes. Visually, the game delivers colourful 8-bit sprites and smooth side-scrolling environments that maintain a strong sense of speed and tension. The experience is enhanced by a looping rendition of the iconic Airwolf television theme by Sylvester Levay, adapted effectively for the SID chip. Despite its technical polish, Airwolf became notorious for its extreme difficulty, with unforgiving controls and one-hit deaths making survival a serious test of skill and patience. Today, it remains a cult favourite and a memorable example of both the ambition and frustration found in licensed C64 titles. 💬 Did you ever master the cavern runs, or did Airwolf defeat you every time? ▶️ PLAYLISTS Elite:    • Elite Systems – Classic Arcade & Licensed ...   Licensed Games:    • Licensed Games – Movie, TV & Comic Tie-Ins...   💙 SUPPORT & CONNECT Patreon:   / cheekycommodoregamer   Join:    / @cheekycommodoregamer   Twitter:   / cheekycommodoregamer   Facebook:   / cheekycommodoregamer   Discord:   / discord   Website: https://www.cheekycommodoregamer.co.uk #airwolf #c64 #commodore64 #retrogaming #helicoptergame
