This is part 3 of a three-part series of our first overlanding trip, in this video we are back in South Africa where we document our journey from Lesotho to Ballito, before heading home (Day 6 to 9): Day 6: This is the day we went to visit Maleatsunyane Falls. From there, we crossed back into South Africa via Qacha’s Nek and ended the day in Mount Currie, Kokstad. Day 7: The adventure continued as we made our way to Ballito, heading to Salt Rock Caravan Park, we stopped at Lake Eland Game Reserve, where we explored the Lake Eland Suspension Bridge and took in the views of the gorge below. Day 8: After 7 days of travel and exploring, we decided to slow the pace and rested for the day by the ocean as we prepared for the long road home. Day 9: This is the final day of our adventure. We packed up and began the long drive back to Johannesburg. This was the saddest day of our trip knowing the journey was coming to an end. The road back home offered some spectacular scenery, including the breathtaking landscapes of Van Reenen’s Pass, providing a fitting finale to an unforgettable overlanding adventure. We covered the Drakensberg part of the trip (Day 1 to 3) in Part 1 (Link below): Day 1: We travelled from Midrand (Johannesburg) to Hlalanathi Drakensberg Resort (in the northern Drakensberg) where we camped for the first night of the trip. Day 2: We travelled to the Garden Castle Nature Reserve where we camped at the Garden Castle Campsite (Hermits Wood Campsite). On this day we passed by Howick Falls on our way to the Garden Castle Nature Reserve in Underberg. Day 3: We crossed the border (Sani Pass Border Control) to Lesotho via Sani Pass, from the Lesotho border post we travelled to Maliba Mountain Lodge near the town of Butha-Buthe. We spent two nights at the Maliba Mountain Lodge. In Part 2, we covered the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, exploring some breathtaking passes, remote villages, and some of the most spectacular landscapes Southern Africa has to offer (Link below): Day 3: We travel from Garden Castle Nature Campsite (Hermits Wood Campsite) in Underberg cross the border (Sani Pass Border Control) to Maliba Mountain Lodge in Lesotho via via Sani Pass and Moteng Pass. Day 4: We rested among the peaks by exploring the area around Maliba Mountain Lodge, we also attempted to do a short hike. Day 5: We travelled to Semonkong Lodge where we camped for the night. We passed by Mafika Lisiu Pass and Katse Dam on our way to Semonkong Lodge. Day 6: This is the day we went to the Maletsunyane Falls before crossing the border (Qacha's Nek) back to South Africa.
