A prayer for protection before the storm, for families and neighbors facing hurricanes, floods and wildfires. Christian prayer song with the lyrics on screen. The alerts start sounding and the horizon goes dark. You board the windows, put the documents in a bag, and stand there for a moment understanding how small you are against this. I did not want this one to promise that faith keeps the roof on. That is not a promise I can make. So the prayer asks for something else: courage to prepare, clear judgment about when to leave, and mercy over every house, whether it stands or not. I wrote it for the family waiting it out in a hallway. For the neighbor who walks down the street to check on the eighty-year-old who lives alone. And for the crews who load the trucks before anyone else has moved. If severe weather is coming toward you, or something in your life feels like it, let this prayer sit with you. If you would like prayer today, leave a first name in the comments. Please keep private and medical details out of public comments.
