Boone & Scenic Valley Train Ride with EMD NW2 #1003 and Caboose Ride

A two hour train ride from Boone, Iowa to the small coal town of Fraser, this tourist railroad operates this train on most weekends. The scenic route includes a trip over the 156 foot high Bass Point Creek High Bridge. Power for the tourist train is #1003 , EMD NW2 built in 1942. This loco was originally built for the Grand Trunk Western. The tourist train operates their Chinese steam locomotive on some Saturdays. Filmed September 2024.
